Local charity shops would be very happy with all these kinds of items, so think about what you can donate.

Furniture

When you are downsizing, it is also likely that the current furniture you own might be too big for your new place. Prioritise which items you would like to keep, and get a rough estimate of the measurements. If you know how big your dining table is for example, it helps to visualise a new space with your items in it.

Storage

If you don’t want to donate or get rid of some of your belongings, a storage unit could be a great solution for items that you cannot keep in your new property but do not want to let go of.
